[Development Concept]
The first thing I felt when I raced the 1199 was that it took a long time to remove the cowl.
From the mechanic’s point of view, “good maintainability” is an essential element in the race scene where every second counts.
In order to cope with such a situation, a “quick fastening and removal cowl for racing” is made.
This will definitely improve the serviceability.
[Quick fasteners for easy on and off]
The side cowl is the most common part to be removed for maintenance.
The side cowl can be removed with only 5 quick fasteners (one side), so you can remove it in 5 seconds without using any tools.
To remove the cowl (upper cowl, side cowl, seat cowl) once installed, only 3mm and 4mm hex wrenches and a flat head screwdriver are required.
Only three bolts need to be removed with a wrench.
This means that the same tools can be used to install the unit again.
It makes your maintenance much easier.
[cover for electrical components]
The side cowl is a two-piece structure and has separate covers for the regulator and CPU.
The stock cowl is one piece, but it is not necessary to remove it, so this cover is bolted on.
This cover has a passage for air to flow from the in-tech air duct to this cover to cool the electrical system.
[Compliant to race regulation]
The oil catch cowl uses a special bracket to ensure the capacity to meet the race regulations.
The oil can be changed without removing it from the vehicle.
